Beach Layout

So, I got the Cricut Storybook cartridge, and I had to use it. I've been wanting to scrap these pictures, but I just didn't want to make a page and not be happy with it. I was flipping through Scrapbooks Etc. magazine, and on page 102 of the August issue, there is a beach layout that I just loved. So, I pretty much copied it. I used my own colors and stuff, but the layout is almost exactly the same. Don't you just love the font for Beach? That's Storybook as well as the leaves and the swirls on the journaling block. The "THE" is from Opposites Attract. I've alway wanted to try to get flowers on a boy page too, and was finally able to do it without it looking too feminine.
Garrett absolutely loved the beach. We only got to spend about an hour at Santa Monica Pier on our way back from Disneyland. And I was irritated that day because we were in a hurry and it was way hot. I feel really bad now because I probably totally ruined it for him. I'd love to be able to just take him back for like a week to just relax and enjoy it. He so didn't want to leave.

Now it's my turn to tag. I tag Ryan and Jordyn.

It's your bird-day card

Here is a card I made for my friend's birthday. I used the Owl Occasions stamp set from Sweet N Sassy stamps and some old patterned cardstock (I'm not sure who the manufacturer is on that). All the ink and markers are Stampin' Up. If anyone needs a great SU demonstrator, let me know. Mine is awesome. Anyway, I hadn't posted for a while so I thought I should do something to let people know I'm still alive lol.

Stuff I made

Here are some pictures of a few things I made for a magalog coming out for Robert's soon. I had to use the new color-core cardstock with each project (since that is what my page is showcasing). I can see issues with all of these, but hopefully not everyone can. I was just so tired of trying to come up with things to do, and my deadline is coming up soon, so I did the best I could.

The lighting for these pictures is not great. I took them at night inside the house, and I couldn't use the flash because then I got a glare.

Memory!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Scraplifted Card

I've been working on some projects for a magalog (magazine-catalog) that Robert's is putting out. I'll post them as soon as I'm done, but I just have to say that I love Mod Podge. I've never used it before, but decided to try it out since it's on the company's dime (just kidding). It is so cool. I'm gonna be on a Mod Podge kick now lol. Anywho, here is a birthday card I made for someone tonight. I won't say who because they might look at my blog, but I'll be mailing it out tomorrow.

BTW--I totally cased this card off of http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/. I don't remember who made it, but this is their picture. I used all the same colors, and it looks exactly the same. But, I put mine in the envelope before I remembered to take the picture. I always try to give credit when I scraplift another person.

Simple Patriotic Card

So, I haven't posted in a few days. Not really a lot going on in my world. Boring really. I'm posting this simple card I made because that's really why I started this blog is to share my creations and a little about me. I should have separate sites for family and crafting, but that's a pain. Anyway, it's like a holiday here in UT the whole month (UT became a state on Jul 24th), so the red white and blue sticks for the whole month. These are my fave colors anyway.

Disappointed

So, we went to my sister's house to watch the city fireworks from her driveway. Every year for the last six years she's done this. Well, the one year I decide to try something different, no fireworks. I love fireworks. I'm so disappointed. Oh well. There's another firework show in a nearby city soon because it is their "Steel Days" celebration. Might have to go catch those ones.

Happy Fourth Y'all!

I have a thing about the 4th of July. Ever since I was little it's been my favorite holiday. Even more than Christmas. It was always a fun time in our family. My dad loved fireworks almost as much as I do. I get a little teary whenever I'm saluting a flag or saying the pledge of allegiance. God Bless the USA!!
I also want to send out a huge thanks to all of our men and women who have served or are serving in any division of our military. It is a huge sacrifice to make for their families and I really do appreciate what they do.
I want to thank my other very awesome sister Lacy for helping me create my blog. I'm a bit technically challenged, and she was able to help me get it going. For some reason all of my pics wanted to come out huge, but I guess I was putting them in the wrong place(der #$@!!). So now I can join the 21st century and blog the night away. Thanks Lace, I love your face!!

Back from California

Just wanna give a shout out to my awesome sister Kim who flew me and my son, Garrett, out to California for the weekend to go to Disneyland, California Adventure, and the beach. This was Garrett's first time ever flying, and only my second. Neither one of us had ever been to Disneyland, so that rocked. My favorite rides were Space Mountain and Indiana Jones for Disneyland and Soarin' over California and California Screamin for California Adventure. I think Garrett has too many favorites to list lol, but he really liked Grizzly Rapids, Star Tours, and Space Mountain. We all loved ToonTown, and enjoyed meeting some favorite characters. I hope I get a chance to take him back someday when we can all go as a family. Maybe when he graduates high school. He'd probably enjoy California Adventure more when he's that age. Anyway, we had an absolute blast, but we're happy to be back. Our legs have stopped hurting, and my voice is almost back now lol.
