6 Very Un-Spectacular Things About Me

I am responding to the tag my sister, Lacy, put on her blog.
Here are the rules:
Tell about 6 un-spectacular quirks of yours.
Tag 6 bloggers by leaving a comment on each of the tagged blogger's blogs letting them know they have been tagged:
1) I talk to myself in my head all the time. Sounds crazy, but you know.
2) I try to make my underwear and bra match each other if at all possible even though no one sees them except me and hubby. And, if I can get them to match my clothes I'll probably have a pretty darn good day lol.
3) I'm still mad about my sister getting Cabbage Patch twins the same year that my parents decided I was too old for dolls. That's just mean.
4) I hate cooking on the stove, bbq, or oven--it all sucks.
5) Sometimes if Shane isn't home and I watch an unsolved mysteries show or a crime scene investigation show--I get really freaked and start seeing shapes of people in the dark.
6) I wish that Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was real.

Who's next? Let's see...hmm.....I only have a couple blogger friends right now. So Tiffany and Jacki--you're up.

School is Back in Session

Woo Hoo--school started on August 20th. Garrett didn't start until the 25th because he was in Alaska with his dad and grandpa--lucky. That's another post for another day though.
It is so nice to have life back to normal. It sucks having a kid at home all day when you and hubby have to work full time. They can get in a lot of trouble alone you know? Thankfully, we don't need to worry too much about Garrett. He's a pretty great kid. He did get grounded a couple times, and that really sucks in summer too. He can't play video games or watch t.v., so Garrett says, "What am I supposed to do then mom?". Uh, hello--what did we do when we were kids? I was never home--seriously.

Me: "PLAY OUTSIDE!"
Garrett: "It's too hot."
Me: "Well, turn the hose on and play in the water."
Garrett: "There's no one to play with."
Me: "Go find someone. There are lots of kids around here Garrett."
Garrett: "There's no one my age to play with."
OMG--the list goes on lol.

Anyway, he got a really cool male teacher this year, and he's way excited. I'm glad too. I can't believe my baby is in 6th grade! Holy cow. I'm old.

Twilight the Movie

This is a picture of Bella and Edward from the Twilight movie coming out. Funny how the characters in your head don't ever match with who they pick huh? But now that I've seen some of them, I can't remember what I used to think they look like lol. Well, anyway, I can't wait to see this film.

Breaking Dawn

I just finished reading the last book in the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer. This series is sooooo good. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. I won't say anything here, wouldn't want to be a spoiler, but damn...........that was a good book. The series, in order, is Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
I'm really sad it's over now. I want more lol--just like when Harry Potter ended. I need to find something else to read now lol. But, when I read, it gets in the way of my other hobbies. I only have so much time to spend alone. If I spend too much time reading, scrapping, or making cards, my hubby gets his feel-bads hurt. Poor hubby. Just kidding. But, you know, I really should spend more time with my family than hobbies I guess.

This Face

This is a page I did for Shannon Leffew's blog challenge. You can check it out at http://shannonleffew.blogspot.com/. I love this picture of Garrett. It's one of the very few I have of him with a genuine smile. If you tell him to smile, it ruins it lol. He gets a really cheesy fake smile on. Anyway. I don't remember how I got this pic, but I'm sure glad I did. His little baby chubby cheekies are still there and his eyes are so big. Love that smile. Makes me want more..........not. But I'm sure glad I was blessed with this one.

Masculine Thank You Card

This is a thank you card that I made for Shane's dad today. He has helped us out so much lately. I'm not going to go into all the sad details, but my husband and his dad haven't been close at all throughout his life. Over the last few years they've started spending a lot more time together. And, since his dad sold the family farm, they've been able to do a bit more. He even took Shane on an Alaskan fishing trip last year. This month they're going again, and they're taking Garrett with them (woo hoo, free week for me--JK). I'm just really glad that they seem to be getting to know one another again and that they can spend this time together now. I've been lucky with my family. We've always been close, and I hope we always will. I can see now how fortunate I am because some families aren't that way.
