Phantom of the Opera

This is a 2-page layout I worked on today about going to Phantom of the Opera in New York City on Broadway in March. It was fantastic fun, and if you get the chance, you should definately go.
The first page with just the one picture of all four of us was done using 52sketches52weeks sketch #4. The second page was using sketch #6. BTW--the bottom of the second page looks crooked, and it is. I haven't got the inclination or energy to fix it right now lol.
Sorry for the glare on the second one. It was taken inside the house, and it's the best I could get.

Flower Girl

This is my niece Jordyn. She was the flower girl for her cousins wedding in June. Isn't she a doll? Irresistable I tell ya.
I totally copied this layout from my sister, Lacy. When I say copied, I don't mean I used some of her ideas or used the layout with different paper. I mean, I copied it all the way. I used the same paper and everything. Why mess with perfection? I believe in giving credit when it is due--so thanks for letting me rip off your idea sis lol.
The only thing I did that is different is that I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the black paper with some swirls. You can't even hardly tell in the picture though.

Ryan's Seventh Bday

Sorry for the glare. I wanted to share this layout, but it is dark outside, so I had to use my flash.
This is my handsome nephew again on his birthday. I've been doing a lot of layouts of him lately. He's just growing up too fast.

First New Car

This is a picture of the first brand-new car I ever got. It was just 5 years ago, and I still love this car. But, I have since learned that cars lose their value way too fast. You're much better off buying a "gently-used" model with low miles. But, it was still fun knowing that I was the first owner. It only had 5 test-drive miles on it when I bought it (three of which were from me). It's treated me well so far. Let's hope it gets me through without breaking down before I can pay it off.

Growing Up

This is my nephew, Ryan. He is getting so big! I can't believe he just turned 7 last week. Holy cow.
This is a page I did using sketch #32 from 52sketches52weeks.

Friends

I think this might be my favorite page so far. It is totally my style, my colors, and one of my favorite subjects. My sisters and brother mean everything to me. I thought the quote on here was perfect. I know you can't read it without enlarging the photo, so here it is:
"I don't believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at." ~Maya Angelou
My husband doesn't get along with his sister, and he hasn't even spoken to his brother in over 13 years. That got me thinking today about how lucky I really am to have these friends who are my siblings in my life.

There was another quote I thought about using, but it didn't fit the mood I was going for. I want to share it anyway though because it is funny.

"It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on... someone to tell on!" ~Author Unknown

Christmas 2007

I'm trying to get caught up on my Christmas layouts before another year comes and goes. I'm doing them out of order, so don't think I'm almost done lol. I just pick the pictures that suit the sketch I'm using. I love sketches. Saves me so much time trying to come up with something that looks cool. This is yet another one I did with a sketch from 52sketches52weeks.
It looks crooked, but it really isn't. I can't seem to take a straight picture of a layout at all. And, the colors are all wrong. I took the picture inside without any natural lighting. It looks all orangey, but it really isn't. Anyway, you get the idea.

Home

Well, I'm home again. Florida is a beautiful state, and I had lots of fun, but I'm glad to be home. The air there is so humid. It takes your breath away when you get out of the car or come out of an air-conditioned building. But, I have to say, it did great things for my hair lol. I didn't have any flyaways. And, we hardly needed lotion at all.
Here are some pictures of my trip. I didn't get many because it rained a lot and we were working most of the time. Who wants to take pictures at a trade show?
This is the courtyard at our hotel. Isn't it pretty? I'm a sucker for a palm tree. The picture is a little foggy because my camera didn't like the humidity at first either.
Front view of the castle. I like this castle more than the one in Disneyland. But it was amazing to me how similar the parks really are. I think I like Disneyland better though.
This is what the weather was like in Disney World almost the entire time we were there.

The castl lit up at night. Getting ready for fireworks that I did not get any good pictures of.
