School is Back in Session

Woo Hoo--school started on August 20th. Garrett didn't start until the 25th because he was in Alaska with his dad and grandpa--lucky. That's another post for another day though.
It is so nice to have life back to normal. It sucks having a kid at home all day when you and hubby have to work full time. They can get in a lot of trouble alone you know? Thankfully, we don't need to worry too much about Garrett. He's a pretty great kid. He did get grounded a couple times, and that really sucks in summer too. He can't play video games or watch t.v., so Garrett says, "What am I supposed to do then mom?". Uh, hello--what did we do when we were kids? I was never home--seriously.

Me: "PLAY OUTSIDE!"
Garrett: "It's too hot."
Me: "Well, turn the hose on and play in the water."
Garrett: "There's no one to play with."
Me: "Go find someone. There are lots of kids around here Garrett."
Garrett: "There's no one my age to play with."
OMG--the list goes on lol.

Anyway, he got a really cool male teacher this year, and he's way excited. I'm glad too. I can't believe my baby is in 6th grade! Holy cow. I'm old.

That sounds just like Garrett! And actually me too. I'm always telling my kids to play in the water, and for some reason they think they need a pool, or some fancy toy to play with! Kids are so spoiled these days. I guess I'm to blame there.

I can't believe that Garrett is in the 6th grade already. They grow up so so fast! My nephew just started high school this year...talk about feeling old!
